Trento is one of the top Italian cities in terms of quality of life and the environment. It hosts events all year round and is the perfect base from where to discover the area of Trentino, The Dolomites and Lake Garda. History, culture, and nature are the three pillars that form the foundation of Trento. The city is the capital of Trentino-Alto Adige and has about 117,000 inhabitants.
First on your agenda is a private walking tour of Trento. The Piazza Duomo, or city square, is home to tourist spots like the Fountain of Neptune and Palazzo Pretorio. A walk along Via Belenzani will let you discover the frescoes of Palazzo Alberti Colico, Palazzo Thun, and Palazzo Geremia.
You will get the opportunity to make a stop at Castello del Buonconsiglio—an elegant and robustly fortified castle which is a ten-minute walk from the piazza, the Torre dell’Aquila, the Gallerie di Piedicastello, and the Gianni Caproni Aviation Museum.
After you have gotten the feel of Trento on your first day, you will go on a white water rafting adventure on the Noce River — one of the most beautiful waterways in the world for the practice of river sports. You will face the most spectacular rapids, such as the “forest gorges,” the “never-ending holes,” and the “three peaks” until you get to Cavizzana, the final point of this amazing 18-km white water experience.
In the succeeding days, you’ll go hiking in the Dolomites in search of a secret lake, explore the local wine and cheese around Trento, and visit an amazing winery that includes a wine tasting session.
Another thrilling adventure awaits when you go on an e-bike ride to explore the wonders of Lake Garda, which has the most beautiful panoramic road in Europe. The circumnavigation of Lake Garda on one continuous bike path is the realisation of a biker’s dream. It is partly built close to rugged cliffs and also above the water and therefore gives fantastic views.
The new E-bike path at Lake Garda is wide and suitable for families as there are no steep climbs and the bridge sections are well secured. It is paved with planks of wood and is comfortable for all types of bikes. Its scenic beauty and architectural elegance impress not only cyclists but also pedestrians.
From this point, you can either return home or travel to other areas of Italy. We recommend combining this tour with a week in Sicily.
