Barcelona
Barcelona is undoubtedly the most cosmopolitan, open and vibrant city of Spain. A jewel of the Mediterranean that breathes art and creativity from all sides. More than two thousand years of history and the footsteps of artists like Gaudí, Miró, Picasso, Tàpies, among others, have given this city an inspiring identity and international projection which fortunately continues and adapts to changing times and trends. In its urban layout Roman ruins, medieval districts and the most beautiful examples of Modernism and avant-garde of the twentieth century are integrated. Barcelona is also synonymous of haute cuisine, which is not surprising considering that enjoys the privilege of coexisting with some of the best chefs in the world.
Girona & Costa Brava
Girona & Costa Brava Region is an exclusive area north of Barcelona, also known as the Catalan Tuscany and famous for its amazing landscapes, its gorgeous towns, its small medieval villages and for being the region where Salvador Dalí lived and developed much of his work. It’s a quiet place of great natural beauty with superb gastronomy and a breathtaking coast where to enjoy the essence of the Mediterranean in a very special way. A relatively undiscovered area for international travellers this is a stunning area to get off the beaten track, away from other tourists and enjoy some of the best gastronomy Spain has to offer.
Day 1: Barcelona Tapas & Wine Tour
After your arrival in Barcelona and transfer by private vehicle to the hotel you will have time to settle in. In the afternoon you will dive right into Spanish and Catalan culture by going on a Tapas tour in a historic neighbourhood of Barcelona. During this tour, you will visit some of the most unique tapas bars to taste these little gastronomy creations accompanied by fine wines. You will be accompanied by a gastronomic expert who will explain to us many curiosities of the Mediterranean cuisine in this area and the history of tapas. As you journey from tapas bar to tapas bar, you will walk through the beautiful streets of the historic centre of Barcelona, where your guide will also be revealing the secrets and stories of this wonderful area.
Day 2: Unique Barcelona City Tour.
This morning you will visit the most essential and unique sights of Barcelona. You will visit the main attractions of the city such as the Sagrada Familia, the Gothic Quarter or the mountain of Montjuïc. This is an ideal tour to gain an in-depth, initial impression of Barcelona, its culture, its lifestyle and its history. Lunch is typically at a local restaurant specialized in fish, seafood and rice in front of the Port Vell.
You will then have an afternoon at leisure to continue your exploration of Barcelona with our recommendation such as some of Barcelona’s internationally recognised museums and galleries. The Picasso Museum or the MACBA (Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art), stroll through the bohemian Borne neighbourhood, go shopping in the exclusive Paseo de Gracia or walk along the Barceloneta beach. Later you can relax in the spa of your hotel and for dinner, we will be happy to make a reservation at one of our recommended restaurants as per your wishes.
Day 3: Trip to Costa Brava & Emporada
This morning, you will travel 1h 30mins to reach Empordà in the Costa Brava. After arrival at the hotel, you can have time to settle in, relax and enjoy the pool and a light lunch. In the afternoon you will be taken on a medieval villages tour. We will take a tour through the villages of Monells, Peratallada, Pals, all small medieval villages which have great architectural beauty with several centuries of history contained within their narrow streets and stone buildings. By mid-afternoon we will have the opportunity to try the “recuit”, a cottage cheese loved by locals and only produced in this region. Dinner can be at the hotel or one of the fabulous local restaurants.
Day 4: Costa Brava Sailing Experience
This morning you get to discover the Costa Brava in a special way, from the sea on a blue vintage style sailboat or a motor yacht. We will spend 4 hours sailing through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Mediterranean coast. We will discover small coves of clear waters, where we will be able to swim and snorkel to observe the seabed. The captain is a professional sailor who is passionate about Costa Brava and who will explain many interesting facts and stories of the area. After enjoying an aperitif on board and relaxing in the sun, we will return to the port.
For lunch, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional “paella” made with fresh quality ingredients accompanied with excellent white wine in a local restaurant located at the port or in a nearby fisherman village. Then you can enjoy some free time to relax. Enjoy the beach or the pool of the hotel. Explore the spa, take a massage.
Later in the afternoon, you will embark on a unique winery visit, tasting and dinner. The winery you will be visiting is an award-winning architectural project, as well as an excellent winery. Located in a natural environment of great beauty, between the sea and the mountains, we find this incredible country house and winery, which combines traditional and contemporary architecture.
You will visit this winery together with our passionate and expert local sommelier. You will visit the vineyard and the winery, where innovation and traditional methods merge, resulting in some of the best organic wines in the country. After the walk, you will do a tasting in the old dining room, where we will also enjoy a traditional Catalan dinner. Throughout the visit, tasting and dinner, our sommelier will talk about the history and the importance of wine in Catalonia.
Day 5: Salvador Dali and Cap de Creus Tour
Who does not know Salvador Dalí? Today we will discover some of the most important places in the life of the genius and artist. First, we will visit The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, created by the brilliant artist, which is home to much of his work and has become an essential place for all art lovers. Then we will go to the beautiful cove of Portlligat to visit the House-Museum Dalí, a small fisherman’s house where Dalí lived.
We will also visit the charming village of Cadaqués. Its small beach full of fishing boats, its white houses and its steep streets full of roses, make Cadaqués a magical place. We will enjoy lunch at a restaurant located next to the sea in the town of Cadaqués. After lunch, we will visit the Lighthouse of Cap de Creus, located at the eastern end of the Iberian Peninsula. Here we will be able to enjoy the spectacular natural beauty and magnificent views.
Day 6: Sightseeing Flight, Girona & Dinner
We want you to discover Costa Brava in a very special way, by air. So today you will get to enjoy a unique experience of flying over the most incredible landscapes of Costa Brava. During a 45 mins flight, you will be able to admire beautiful panoramic views of the region flying over Islas Medas and the ruins in Empuries. You will fly over all the Mediterranean caves and fisherman villages found between the Cape of Begur and the harbour in Palamós; Tamariu, Llafranch, Sa Riera, Sa Tuna, and many others. You will also be able to pilot the plane yourself and experience how flying feels!
This afternoon, you will visit Girona, considered one of the cities with the most history and charm in Spain. We will stroll through the old historic centre, visit the Cathedral, (which dates from the 11th century and whose interior includes the widest Gothic nave in the world), and discover the Benedictine Abbey of Sant Pere dels Galligants. After the tour, you will head to a very unique restaurant to live an unbelievable gastronomic experience.
Day 7: Transfer to Barcelona & Beyond
Today you will be met by your private driver for your transfer back to Barcelona for your international flight out or to continue with another adventure elsewhere.
